A guy down the road has a 3 pt. pto operated snow blower in his yard for sale. It"s around 5 ft. wide, looks very heavy duty 1/4 inch steel. To use it, one would have to use the tractor in reverse and back into the snow. Question: Can my tractor handle this monster and second, these things tend to be more trouble than it"s worth-are they any good? Doesn"t look used much, but looks old. He wants $800 obo. He deals with scrap so he may take much much less? Opinions? thanks

The trouble with the 300 is getting to go slow enough ground speed in heavy snow. It will work just need to go forward then back and stop and do that over and over lighter snow wont be any problem just mite get a neck problem looking back do your exercises

I would probably try to find out what horsepower the gearbox is rated for. Then you would know if it's compatible with the 300. Also pto speed 540 or 1000 rpm.

Gene and Rusty have valid technical points.
My only addition is that backing into snow is a "pain in the neck".
