flooded Regular

I took my restored Regular on the WHO tractor ride last week. At the end of the ride on day two it was running rich and smoking a bit. On day three I had to pull it to get it started and it would not keep running. At home I figured out the float (brass not cork) had a hole in it and was full of gas flooding the engine. When I inspected the plugs they were completely carboned up. After I replace the float and plugs, is there anything else I should do? I assume the valves and pistons and rings are all carboned up too. Is there something to do to clean out the rest of the engine parts? Thanks.

Best way to clean it out is to just run it. Make it work as hard as possible.
