Farmall 300 Eliminate hydraulic pump ???NEED HELP ASAP

I just lost a hydraulic pump on my 300 and need to bale hay with it. The hay is already cut. Can I eliminate the distributor pump by changing to the casting like on the H ??? If so what other tractors can the casting come off of ?? I only need to get through the next couple days with it

How can I tell if it is a late 50 ? I have a 50 H but I know the engine has been changed. I will pull it off the H so I can bale what I have cut right now to get through until I get seals

I believe the difference is only in the location of the top hole on the 1950+ tractors.

I've read accounts where people have hogged out the hole on the hydraulic pump to make it fit the older front cover, and ran it that way. You might be able to do the opposite on the distributor adapter in this case, if it's the wrong one.

As Mkirsh indicates it is about a half hole location difference. if it matches the newer tractor bolt pattern, it is newer than mid 1950.
If it does not, fileing out the hole to match would not harm the adapter for use on either. Jim
