I have a problem with combine. Can't clean up the grain going to the grain tank. Something is wrong inside the machine and i can't figure it out. All the bean pods and other trash that should be blown out the back is going into the tailing elevator and ends up in the clean grain. Also the trash actually piles up inside the machine to where i have to get inside and clean the pile out by hand, after its cleaned out it will be fine for a bit until it piles up again. There was a canvas curtain that hung inside behind the cylinder that is gone .. is this part of the problem? Thanks for any help.

is the cleaning fan working good it sounds like you arn't getting enuf air to the sives, if it has the even flow cleaning fan there could be a leak between the fan and the sives, reducing the air through them.
also make shure the cleanning shue is moving the full distance from frunt to rear becouse if it isn't that can cause loading of the sives and on a macine that old a little play in most of the shue drive componets can add up to short move ment

good luck and have fun :)

How are the sieves? Any fingers missing? How are they set? They should be set so that your fingers can just slide in between the sets of fingers. Make sure that there aren't any concave problems [holes or wires missing. The baffle behind the cylinder/concaves might cause trouble, but should be in place. How is the belt that drives the cleaning fan? How about a bad bearing on the cleaning fan? Take a look where the fan delivers air to the sieve area to make sure air flow isn't being blocked.
As noted, check the shakers --both sides for good action. Bushings should be in good shape & carry the sieves without dragging.

Sounds like the sieve either has some missing finger sections or is broken. Not uncommon on those machines, even back when they were new.

Sounds like lower sieve has a hole or part of it missing, its hard to see, not much room, try a flashlight, front section probably, take it out the back, all 915 same size, different finger length, short for wheat & other small grain, long finger on later series for corn. The separator fan belts are prone to slip at higher rpm, they wear on the width not length.
