Stainless muffler

i would check with local muffler shop or speed shops to see what they have close look-a-like. i was thinking of getting a straight chrome stack or a turbo muffler for my w-6.

There is an outfit call Stainless Specialties that advertises in Antique Power, as well as elsewhere. Just Google Stainless Specialties and you'll find him. Custom work for about any application. I found the pricing to be pretty attractive.

Why not get a repo IH in stainless. Why would you go to a speed shop and try a stainless glass pack?

Check with Mark Wood of Mark's Tractors, Gifford, IL. 217-694-4735. If you get Red Power magazine, he usually has an ad in it.

that stainless spec priced one for me it was going to be in the $400-$500 range,a little to rich for me,Marks just never answers the phone ,there is a guy in IL thats trying to sell them as a basic muffler and you have to do this tinker toy set up he didnot have picsfor 2 weeks then qouted me to weld it up now its up around $325 and looks like crap,I had a guy in Pa build one back in Dec,looks great and works great but he cant build any now because of cataracs in eyes good luck

Mark has not had an ad in Red Power at least for the last two months. Does not answer his phone, I don't think he is in business anymore. I would buy 2 of his mufflers if he is.

Ken Updike (Bermuda Ken) says he is working on getting someone to make the original mufflers, again -- I will wait on those.

Me too now that I know that. Hopefully they are cheaper than the last replacement stainless for $300. The other great thing is C&G is only 30 min from my house!

Does he or can he make a round one for a Farmall 504 diesel and an oval one for an Allis Chalmers 180 diesel? I'd buy both!

Who's "he?"

Mark's Tractors is apparently gone.

Ken Updike is a parts guy at Carter & Greunwald, an IH dealership, and an IH book writer.

Ken writes books? Cool.
