Adding Hydraulic Remotes

I have a 460U with a loader and fast hitch so all the valves are in use. I would like a set of rear remotes for other implements. Can I tee into the hoses just above the cylinder for the hitch if I add shutoffs to the existing cylinder?

You can have up to 3 remotes on the tractor - are you at that point? If not you can pick up one and add it.

Rather than using shut-off valves, most would use something called a "selector valve". It is a three port valve that has one inlet and two outlets. Double selector valves are also available for using on two-way cylinders. Either selector valve is used to disconnect one application and send power to another.

I'd be more inclined to set up an additional hydraulic system running off the front of the crankshaft through the crank hole in bolster or off the IPTO as a second choice.

Perhaps the easiest solution is to take one of the existing three circuits and fit quick disconnects at the hose ends. Run hoses from the new implement to connect with the new disconnects.

Unless the Fast Hitch control valve has been replaced, it is a Tel-A-Depth type, which means you move the lever to the relative position where you want the hitch to be and leave it there.

It won't work like a normal remote, so you can't tap into it and get anything useful.

A lot simpler than tapping, is to get a set of extensions to run from the bucket remote to the rear. Unhook the bucket and hook up the extensions.

That's how we did it.

That's great advice on the tel-a-depth. Glad I asked, I would have made a mistake. Going to go with using the bucket remote. Thanks for the help.
