WTB Farmall H Wide Front

I want to buy a used wide front end for my 1948 Farmall H, original with tie rods behind if possible. Let me know if anyone has one.

There is no such thing as an original wide front for an H with the tie rods in the back.

If you want that type, you either have to go aftermarket or grab a front end off of a later style tractor.

No offense, but im gonna have to disagree. My grandpas H has a wide front end with tie rods in the back, and it has IH stamped on the front end. His is a 47 model and he bought it 2nd hand in 49, with that front end on it.
 
Is it perhaps a Super H?

There was NEVER an H with the tie rods behind. Further, IH never even manufactured a rear tie rod style until 1954.

IH on the grill? Then at least the grill was made in 1953 or later. There were no IH wide fronts with the tie rods in the back during production of the straight H. Give us the chassis serial with the prefix. FBH is an H, SH is a Super H.
 

No, its a 1947 H. I swore it has IH stamped on it. But if thats not the case, who makes the wide front with tire rods behind.
 
Swartz is one. Call Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch and ask if he has a used one--785-548-7437. That's in Everest, KS (NE corner of KS) Due to shipping you will probably want one closer to your area.

A used wide front in excellent condition will bring as much money as a brand new Schwartz, and a used wide front in poor condition will cost MORE than a brand new Schwartz by the time you replace all the worn out and otherwise damaged parts.
