Old Farmall

I’m posting this in case there are some of you guys in the East Texas/Northwest Louisiana (Shreveport) area who might want to check this old tractor out. I apologize for the quality of the photo but I had to shoot it from the road with a zoom lens. The tractor is behind a locked gate in an old shed, and looks like it has been there for a long time.

I had thought this is an old 30s model John Deere, but the boys on the JD board sent me here. I have no interest in it myself, other than that I like to see interesting old iron in loving hands.

I have no idea if it is obtainable, or even if it is desirable. At this moment you know as much (or more) about it as I do, other than its location. If anyone is interested in sleuthing it out, e-mail me and I’ll give you directions. It’s about two miles from the Texas-Louisiana border.

It is definitely a Farmall. Most likely an F-20, made 1932-1939, but also possibly the next size larger, an F-30. Thanks for your post.

I'm about an hour+ from it and would like to have one of the OLD Farmall's. But, I have a Farmall 504 and recently went to Weatherford, TX and picked up an Allis-Chalmers 180. My wife would frown heavily if I brought that one home. I don't want to press my luck, she has let me have 2 and we have not quite been married 5 years! So I am averaging 1 every 2-3 years.

Thanks for the picture.

Its an F-20 with a kerosene manifold, and round spoke 36" rubber...looks complete...atleast on that side! Non running its worth around 4-$600 as it sits...

(quoted from post at 19:12:50 04/18/11) Definitly a '20,I can tell by the 'depth' of the gas tank, and by the rear hub.

not only the rear hub, but the lower water pipe (straigh to rad, not a water pump) and the location for the engine serial stamping. 30's were up front

the rear roundspokes would probably be the most desireble thing on the whole machine. 95% chance that the manifolds cracked, we just cant see it from here

Looks like a 37 -39 model F20, note the flat steel strap gas tank supports that replaced cast iron ones after 36 and the cross over throttle linkage with the adjustment lever on the left side of the tank.
