In need of clutch disks for my Farmall m with a M&W hand clutch. Mine are in good shape but coated in oil and it slips, anybody know where I can get replacement clutch disks? thanks

You might try burning off the oil with a propane torch. Heat until smoking, not on fire. Then do a different one, repeat until they just get hot and stop boiling out oil. It isn't a perfect solution, but it has saved difficult to replace friction material before. Outside is best as it will smoke! Repair the seal before putting it back together. Jim

I did the Carb/Brake cleaner process with the brakes on my Cockshutt 40 (disk brakes). Scuff them a bit when done with scotch brite and they are working to this day.

Not real familiar with the innards of that clutch although I have seen them. Would a clutch rebuilder be able to reline it?

Right off hand I can't remember the name of the place, but an outfit up in Nebraska has had some remanufactured. several years ago they were $70 each, and it takes at least 3 disks, maybe 4.

The name of the place should be found in the archives somewhere.

Good luck, Gene

Hook it to a big tree, and let the clutch out part way until it starts lugging...repeat this several times, you'll get the clutch nice and hot and burn that crud out and it should work fine...done this many times before
