Broken Petcocks

I brought my new super M home and was going about greasing and oiling and the previous owner had mentioned the petcocks were broken off. Any way to get them out so i can regularly check the oil? I'm going to drain and change the oil. So i'll just fill it with the required volume but to check it over time any suggestions? Thanks- Keith

If they are broke past the fitting I have seen bolts welded to them. In the end you are probably better off to purchase new ones.

All depends on how much of the center portion is left i have even made an original type of metal and welded fast but if the stub is too short replacement is the only way to go . New ones are available and used ones are for sale all the time on e-bay.

Drop the pan, clean it up good, and then heat the area around where the petcocks screw in. Let it cool, and then you should be able to easily screw those petcocks out. New petcocks are available. I wouldn't mess around with used petcocks.
