I found a new 5 gallon bucket of 40 weight in Dads garage can I use it in my 200 or is it too thick. Would like to find something to use it for besides burning brush

The 40 weight would probably be O.K. for warm weather use. Using it in cold weather would most likely result in starting issues and might not provide the lubrication desired.

Gets no use below freezing so I think I will try it. I will probably run it in my lawn lowers too as they only see summer action.

When temps are over 40 or so you will be ok in every thing. Below that and getting one to spin over if it is a 6 volt system might be fun. That said I have one old tractor that only sees 50W but it has not seen new rings since way back in the late 40s or early 50s

no problem, use it , dont waste it, winter is coming to an end, sometime soon. those old engines with wear like that stuff.

Good to hear, I am getting a filter this week and will use that oil. My grandfather bought it new and as far as I know it was not been apart. It is probably a bit loose. I switched to 12 volt a while back when the genny and regulator went out, just used some stuff I had around.
Time to start plowing the garden and cutting some firewood.
