Who carries springs for the governor on a super C? None of my books tell me what the compression test should read. My tests read 155 to 160. Help

Your compression is fine, you have higher compression than standard, indicating stepped head pistons. CaseIH has the springs.

c175 spring from TSC will raise your governed speed by a few hundred if that's what your wondering .

You can convert the compression ratio specification (usually found in your I&T manual) into psi close enough for diagnostics. The atmosphere is about 15 psi. Say your engine is spec'd at 6 to 1 compression ratio. 6 x 15 = 90.

your engine is obviously in the 10 to 1 area.

Take the old spring to NAPA, you can get one that is slightly stronger so your RPM's can be increased if you choose.

To D Blair, Is c175 the # of the spring and I assume TSC is Tractor Supply Corp. Sorry to be so out of touch. B
