Too much oil pressure for a 460?

I just put a new manifold on my Farmall 460... while I was at it I adjusted my valve clearance while I had the sheet metal off and had easy access. I guess I never noticed till now... or maybe it was always doing this. But at start up I have 30-35 psi. As soon as it warms up it goes right up to 43-44 psi. Once it gets up above 43... it stays up there and never comes down. I changed the oil not to long ago and it wasn't to awesful dirty. I've never payed to much attention to it... and I haven't had it very long. is this common?

well thats a good thing if it dont come down.if your dropping oil press. when warm then you have problems. that is a very small oil line and it may take a bit till the oil warms and reaches the guage. have seen this happen. you should have 30-40 psi at 1800rpm. so you have no worries.

Too much, no. Mine runs a little below 60 when warm. Pressure is usually higher, not lower when cold -- never heard of your situation. Perhaps your gauge is sticking somewhere.
