Never seen these tires before,

If you go to this link and look inside the pages it shows the early H. I've never seen these tires before. I'm sure most of you have the book but it was interesting to me.

Yeah, Ive seen them over lap a little but never like that. Then again I'm 19 and the 2 i've got both have"regular" tires. Do they still make them like that? They gotta have better traction.

those are called "closed tread" and yes, they are older style tread. Miller Tire still sells that, but only in 10 x 28.

Early Firestones, maybe some others, had "closed center" tread. Actually poorer traction as they didn't clean themselves as well as newer "open center" treads.
My Dad had the steel wheels cut off & a pair of these put on his Regular in about 1950/51.

At one time, they could be bought out of South America, from a company that bought the "molds" from Firestone, BUT at approx. 1900 each I didnt think it was worth it. (That price was with shipping)

My 43 JD B had this type of tires on when I bought it, They worked pretty good fitting a field but would spin easy on wet grass

I have a C with those on it -- likely original tires. Don't know when they stopped production. When I refurbish it I should leave them on, but I doubt if I do.

Back in the '40's Sears had a tire for tractors, the "Allstate", that had the closed tread and knobs on the tread at various "Strategic" locations. These tires pulled pretty good, better than the plain flat barred closed tread Firestones for sure.

They are similar to what I have on my H.

I agree with those who say they're Firestones. The curved bar version, as shown on the Farmall below, came out in the late '40s. Our '49 JD 'A' came with the curved bar.

The world has a way of making old things new again, but these haven't come back yet.

Over in the vintage ads section there is testimony to the arguments going on at the time. Seems you ere either a Firestone man, or a Goodyear man.

Wow, I haven t seen any of those old Firestone Turkey Tread tires for yrs. I had a couple of 1940 s M-M 'u' s with that tread. Not very proud of them . Poor traction when it was tuff going. But were slow to wear down on hard roads. I sure would keep them on the tractor as long as they held air. clint

You wont have any problem selling them they were terrible when new but now i think they are neat on a late 40s or early 50s tractor. I sole a B with exhaust cult just because it had those tires for some serious money.
