f 20 magneto is there a condenser

hi all im playin with a f20. I start it if i pull it but i cant start it by hand.. I have good comp though im gona replace the head gasket cause it leaks water in the front when it warms up. i have 30 tbhousands on the points and new spark plugs but cant see a condenser. is there one internal ?? or what can i do for more spark
 
If your tractor has a Farmall mag. it has a internal condenser. Check to see if brushes are clean. poor spark could be weak magnets,weak coil,bad wires,and what shape cap is in.If you would need parts standard magneto sales inc. chicago,ill. ( phone,1-800-magneto ) they carry parts for alot of old mags. They also sell rebuilt mags.
 
The condenser is the same as the H4 mag. If you take off the magnet , then the top cover, you will see the condenser.
 
you also may need to horseshoe mag recharged. Weak spark can be related to weak magnet. Also, is the impulse working? Can you hear it click when hand cranking?
 
Can you hear the impulse tripping while you hand crank? If not, you will have a very hard time trying to crank start it. Also, as mentioned below, points gap at .13.
 
If the impulse is not working hand cranking is like Russian Roulette. Serious kickback Will occur if you would happen to go fast enough to get a spark. If it doesn't click fix it before you break an arm.

Nebraska Kirk on here can rebuild that mag, they start easy when the mags are hot and working top notch. you need 1/4 inch of blue spark, if you don't have that when the impulse trips rebuild it.
