Will a Farmall 504 Engine Kit fit a 340 Block?

I was told that you could install a 504 (153 C.I.) engine kit in a farmall 340 (135 C.I.) block. Is this true? Has anyone successfully done this? I would like to know before I purchase a kit.

Don't think so. The C135 is a wet sleeve block, the 153 is a sleeveless block. Not a lot in common between the two. Joe

Why are you doing this?are you thinking that this is a cheap/easy way to get a bigger/more powerful engine?The gaskets MIGHT work,and may be some bearings,but that would be all.

The 504 does not use a sleeved engine, over bore only.

You better quit listening to whoever told you that tale. Common sense will tell you that 135 vs 153 engine cant possibly have the same bore so how would the same kit work.
