Restoration pictures (for GordoSD)

The picture I posted in the "toolbox" thread just looked dark. It was early evening so bad lighting and camera just made it look dark.

I used epoxy primer (black) and Nason single-stage urethane. I can't remember the code off the top of my head. This was my first complete restoration. I had a good friend of mine help me with the painting. We worked together and he taught me alot. My first time with a gun in my hands...I had him do all the tin work.

No secrets to what we did. I'm just very picky and I love paying attention to detail. I wanted something different. An H that would turn heads.

Looks nice. What is on the side of the battery box? You're going to get hammered by the restoration police for a lack of complete disassembly after sandblasting. They will talk of sand in everywhere and premature failure and the end of all that is good. Let us know if they are correct.

That's a custom sign I had made. I cut the stainless myself and had a local engraving shop do the lettering. I've been advertising them from time to time here in the classifides.
No one noticed my water jug holder?

I know everyone has their arguments about sandblasting. I wasn't sure about it either. The guy who helped me has been in the business for 20 some years and is well aware of what he's doing. We take extreme caution in protecting everything that needs protected and avoids direct blasting where you shouldn't be. He's done a lot of blasting and painted over 100 tractors and has never had anyone have any trouble.

Tinwork is exceptional. I can see you did some extensive priming and block sanding.
Great paint application. New wiring is impressive. All new grease zerks is the right way to go. Notice you changed grill bolts to cad or chrome? I like that, plus.. a black fibre washer so the grill paint doesn't get all chipped up helps. Maybe paint that manifold with the high temp cast blast paint?
What is that muffler.Stainless?
2nd best H I've seen. You know where #1 is..:)

I ended up painting the grill bolts. I didn't have the correct "dot head" bolts when I took those pics. I had the manifold ceramic coated by a local powder coating shop. Muffler is from Mark's and the pipe is stainless that I polished myself.

Where is #1? Any pictures of it?

Cool plaque. I like it!

I am not knocking the sandblasting. That is the way we roll around here. I just wondered if you have seen any issues with it and I see you haven't. I have never been a strong believer in the no sandblasting thing.
