966 grinds when putting in gear but has new clutch

It is normal if going from neutral with the clutch out to in gear. Waiting is called for to let the gears slow before that first shift from N. If it does it all the time, or will not stop if the clutch is held in, the clutch or pilot bearing is dragging. If the tractor was recently apart, and the trans didn"t grind like it does now, and the clutch is adjusted correctly, and you are pushing it down all the way, then I suspect the disk got bent when putting the tractor together. The splines could be worn on the clutch shaft and hanging on the splines on the new disk. Best of luck. Jim
