#2001 to 2000 loader swap

I just bought a 504 mid 60 s utility tractor w/ a 2001 loader this loader works ok but has no down power on lift but it has power tilt both ways ,it uses the contols on the right side of the seat. with the 504 came a 2000 loader . I instaled the loader , the tilt works fine . I have two snap couplers on the left side of the tractor of witch only one was used on the 2001 loader . will I have to change a valve or seting to make it work? thanks

The 2001 with no down power has single acting hydraulic cylinders ( power up, gravity down), hence only one hose was connected to your outlets on the left side. 2000 loader has double acting ( power up and down ). It requires hoses to be connected to both outlets on left side. No changes to valves or settings. Just hook them up and go. They should however be connected so that you pull lever back to raise loader and push lever forward to lower loader. With down pressure continuing to be applied after loader bucket hits ground , loader will lift front wheels of tractor off the ground .

the sales flyer I have dated 1963 has the 2001 loader as the low cost loader with optional double acting lift . the HD loader 2000 has the optional single action lift. so it sounds like your is the 2000 with the single option. Doug

Is there a single/double acting switch on the valve at the handle (as there is on X00 and X50 tractors? if so would these need to be switched on the lift control valve? Jim
