666 remote valve spool removal

Can a 666 remote hyd. valve spool be removed out the back without taking the sleeve off the valve body? The 666 has a Hiniker cab and there isn't room to get a wrench on the sleeve. I really don't want to tip back or remove the cab and also I wonder if I can get the valve blocks off with the cab on as there much room to disconnect hyd. tubes if possible? I haven't tried anything yet, but would like any suggestions.

No.

Can you get a socket on the cap on the rear of the sleeve? You can sometimes get the cap and sleeve to come out together if you first tighten the cap until the sleeve starts to turn before unscrewing them.

I would caution you on tightening the cap as one of our customers did that and broke the valve. My BIL was a good welder and he was able to weld it and it worked out fine but was more luck than sense. What I do to loosen the sleeve is use a sharp chisel and carefully try to coax it with a few light taps in the correct direction. If you nick that outside no problem. Some are steel and some are pot metal but either way it does the job usually.
