What grade of oil is recommended for the farmall M 1952 air cleaner?

Wally, I believe the operator's manual states to use the same weight as you are using in the engine. Unless you use something lighter in the winter I believe the manual calls for SAE 30 weight for above +32 F but a lot of folks use the present day multi-grade detergent oils instead of the straight weight non-detergent ones noted in the manual back when that was the only oils available. I use straight 30W. In the application, detergent or non- will not make any difference.
