Flush out a Farmall 706 Engine

There is a product called "Rislone" that is supposed to help clean up a neglected engine. It comes in a one quart container, and replaces one quart of motor oil. I used that product once, and I really don't know if it helped, but it sure didn't hurt anything either. If the engine is really dirty and cruddy inside, your best hope is still to do several oil and filter changes in a row, and try to make the tractor work hard and get good and warmed up in between those oil changes.

This might raise some eyebrows but you can use Kerosene. It has enough lubricating properties to keep the motor safe and it cleans sludge out really good. Drain all old oil out and fill it up. Just watch the temp and don't get it too hot. Drain it out after a while and refill with normal oil.
Works good and cheap. Then you can use it for the burn pile!

Can you still get Rislone? I used to use it to clean up antifreeze contaminated engines because it contained Butylcelusolve which is what IH recommended to use for that purpose. I've been told the company that made it was sold and that product was dropped.

I guess it has been at least 10 years since I used any. Maybe it is no longer available?

If you are talking about the engine crankcase and not flushing the cooling system, one gal. diesel fuel mixed with five qts. automatic transmission fluid. Run 4 to 6 hrs off and on and drain out hot. Do not pull it while doing this.
