I have an 826D that i have recently done a lot of work to.. Had the injection pump rebuilt last year, cost $1000,and the guy told me they had to ship it to venzuela because that is the only place in the world that can manufacture new parts for a robert bosch pump.. well its been running good until recently, now it is dumping diesel fuel in the crankcase!! It still runs fine, and i also had the injectors redone at the same time, so i'm leaning towards the pump....Any ideas or suggestions?? Is this something ican fix myself? It really bothers me that after all the time and money that its leaking like that....Does it need to be sent to the shop again??

I know fer nothing 'bout that pump.

However, just bet it has those same two seals on the shaft as the Roosy masters that's letting the fuel into the case.

Simple job to replace but ya gotta pull the pump back to do it.

Maybe someone will come on here who can help ya better than my lame attempt.

Hi John, it is probably the front oil seal on the injection pump drive shaft. If you were able to remove the pump and re-install it when you had it overhauled then you should be able to replace the front oil seal. Tools required are a seal puller and a deep socket that will fit over the drive shaft and some seal lube. Becareful not to nick the shaft or the new seal on the woodruff key in the shaft. Lube the shaft well before installing the new seal and use the deep socket to seat the seal. Make sure seal goes in straight and seats properly.

I believe the part number is:
3078355R2 SEAL SEAL oil drive shaft
BUT verify with CIH parts person.
I searched a CIH dealer in upstate NY in stock for $10.52.

This seal wears out more frequently now with the new low sulfur Diesel fuel. So to prevent premature failure add some Diesel fuel conditioner in the Diesel tank.

Hope this helps
