PTO problem on IH856

The Pin that needs to be pulled to engage the PTO on my 856 broke, ok, I broke it with a long prybar. So how do I fix that? Replace the pin? Is that an invovled process?

I have all of the parts still but the square block that is supposed to be on top of the round pin is no longer attached. currently I have a pair of vice grips holding it up.

The square block is threaded on the valve stem. The PTO pressure is adjusted by where the block is located on the valve stem. You will probably want to find a used valve assembly. It is $180plus from your dealer.

The valve assembly must be installed from the bottom. You can either remove the parts of the hitch that are in the way below the PTO assembly or remove the complete unit to accomplish the repair.

sounds like I lucked out then, Dad found me a complete 540/1000 PTO for $300.
