Jacking up a Cub

What is the proper method for jacking up a Cub and supporting the tractor so all four wheels are off? I have wedges on both sides of the front axle pivot point but the thing still wants to tilt to the left. Kind of scary. Also front wheels are stuck/frozen to the hub. Have wacked them and now have them soaking with PB. Is best way to heat wheel center to get them off or?

If all you are trying to do is remove the front wheels/rims from the hub. Jack up one side at a time. Remove the lug nuts.

Place a 4 x 4 next to the rim and hit the 4 x 4 with a sledge hammer.

Keep in mind the culti-vision creates a left/right imbalance with the extra weight on the short axle. The short axle side is about 250 lbs. heavier at the wheel than the long axle side.

I use 4x4's and build cribbing. I just got done disassembling a parts A, and it was pretty simple. I jacked the front of the tractor up, built the cribbing under the torque tube and tranny, then let the tractor back down on it.

I then disassembled the tractor a piece at a time to keep the weight fairly balanced on the cribbing. If you build the cribbing right, it is the absolute safest way to work on one of these. BTW, the cribbing material should be wood planks, not cement blocks or similar.

This would also work for a Cub.

To jack the front - I use an old tri-pod auto bumper jack. For the rear - I use blocking and a building jack. To remove front wheels = BFH.
