farmall super MTA value

Looking at a super MTA for sale that is pretty much all original, original owner, owners manual, runs good, good metal, and good tires. What is your best estimate as to the value of this tractor as it sets? I collect farmalls and I have always wanted an MTA but don't want to pay too much. I live in MI. Thanks, Jon

If the TA and clutch are good, amd it has straight tinwork, between 3500, and 4500 is a reasonable range. If it is well maintained, it is worth more. Jim

I think the owner should be asking $6000 and settle for $5000. If it went to auction, it would certainly bring $4000.

But we are talking MI and that state's economy is in the crapper. There are a couple of guys from MI on eBay who are willing to sell their parts cheap. They are probably buying the tractors cheaply too. I hope they don't get their hands on this SMTA. Most of it will go into the dumpster.

They are ROUTINELY selling for mid $3000's here. Around $3500 or a little more. I already have a gem of an MTA but have often wished I had bid on one of these. Don't mind having two. Problem is, once I start bidding then you have two guys wanting it and it probably will go higher. What you are looking at is a $4000 tractor, what it will sell for here at home is probably a little less.

Check the TA before you offer anything.

Seen one sell at auction a few weeks ago. Was running but don't know if the TA was good. Tin fairly straight but rusty, tires fair ect. Sold for $4950.

I have one totally restored that I have been offerd 8k for and it;s still in the garage. But it's going to find a new home for one annual payment on the nre tractor.
And there's a stage II SH going out of here for any of youse up near SD.

I bought mine 5 years ago for $1800. My father in law wouldn't sell it on his auction for $2200, but then sold it to me. It has PERFECT pulling tires (read 30-40% tread) bad TA and average tin.
I also found out it wasn't charging and I tore the PTO out shortly after I owned it. That stuff is just stuff you can never check out well when you are looking it over.
