I have questioned about a beely mower for my old A. Looking at some pictures of the mount from the pto, it looks like I do not have the horizontal shaft to hook up the mower. What am I missing? Is this something that was not available on mine or can it be added somehow to my tractor? I"ll try & attach a picture of what I have for a pto shaft. Poor picture quality, sorry.

sorry, trying pic again.
There is a sickle mower attached right now.
I don't see how without some other shaft that I could use a belly mower. Help!

It appears that you have a PTO. The picture is not clear on whether you also have a belt pulley. Many mowers use the belt pulley drive (with the pulley removed) to power the mower.

The belt pulley is at a right angle to the PTO, just above the PTO, kind of below the seat. That may be what you have seen on other tractors.

If you need one, I would expect that one could be obtained from a salvage yard. You would probably need the entire PTO assembly from the transmission back.

On tractors without the belt pulley shaft many people have mounted small gas engines right on the top of the belly mowers to power them.

If it is for a cub it WILL NOT fit an A. Cub PTO turns backwards of what an As does plus the cub has more splines and finer splines so nope will not work
