well for those who seen my previous post on the pump problem i found it.removed the pump and found the key sheared and caused small damage to the shaft.

a new pump runs 800.00 bucks and trying to find used parts for this machine is a task.

the drive shaft that connects the pump to the engine is fine..no damage.but the gear shaft coming out of the pump is where the problem is.

i was wondering what you guys thought of me taking the pump to a machine shop and having a new key way and woodruff key made on the other side of the original key way that has damage.all it did was take just enough material for the key to fail.there is still plenty of shaft there.one little piece missing.

the other thing i though i might be able to do is delete the woodruff key and drill a hole through both the gear shaft and drive shaft and replacing the key with a bolt.is this a good idea or not.things are not the best right not financially and i need the loader asap.

let me know what you think or if someone has a part number for just the shaft.i never have luck searching for parts on this thing.

thanks in advance!!

I think the machine shop will be the way to go.
I have had a shop do new keyways on lawn mower engine crankshafts and I din't have to remove the crankshafts from the engines.
15 years ago it was $60.00 each.

I had the shop mill the shaft all the way up to take square key stock. This way the key stock locked in the whole pulley surface not just in a small spot like a woodruff key does.

thanks Jeff.sounds like i will be taking the pump to a shop.i will have them run the new key all the way down the shaft as far as they can.

thanks again Jeff as well as others for your help and support!
