Farmall 400 carb

Where can I get a rebuilt carb for my Farmall 400?

I've been tying to use YT's online store, but I'm not having any luck. :(

Thanks,
Spotted Horse

What is the number on the tag? I may have what you need.

Here are a couple of pictures of the carb.

No, I do not have one exactly like yours, but why not just rebuild the one you have?

I may have to try that, but I was hoping to get one that was professionaly rebuilt by someone who knows what they are doing.
I just bought this 400 from a guy that said he had put a new carb kit in it, but it's ran like crap ever since I bought it.

This carb kit YT. part number, BK12V. should work.
You have a little odd ball carb there in that originally it was a distillate tractor, thus why you
are having problems finding a kit. IF your just
needed some gaskets and a needle and seat, your set
with that kit.

I but a kit in it, they are not hard to do, just
take your time and clean everything well. Not a big
job. As for a Carb off the M would work but the
jetting is a little different and thus maybe a fewer
hp.

Andrew

Well, I took the carb off and tore it down, it was actually pretty clean inside so I put it back together and put it back on the tractor.

If I open the throttle up quickly it sounds like a John Deere 2 cylinder (putts) until I back off the throttle some then it smooths out again.

If I give it throttle real slow, I can get it to rev up rather smoothly but it starts "putting" when I put any kind of load on it even when I move the steering wheel a little (it has power steering).

What do you guys think is going on?
