Hi, have read in manual clutch release bearing needs to be lubricated regularly through the inspection cover. Does anyone know how this is done?

Hi James, I am not aware of any grease zerk that is accessable thru the clutch inspection cover on the 74 Series tractors. I have changed clutches in 454, 495 and 684 and no grease zerk. The most important thing is to check the clutch adjustment. The clutch release bearing should not be in contact with the pressure plate fingers when the clutch is not depressed. The 95 series had a release bearing that made contact all the time and when we changed the clutch on the 495 we installed the old style clutch release bearing that did not contact pressure plate all the time.
