Tire Sizing

hello. i am looking for an 18-28 tractor tire. Is that the current way of sizing tires or is there a crossover size. I have herd people speak of an old way of sizing and a new way of sizing. I was just wondering which one this size is. If its the old one, what is the new size for this tire? Does anybody know what one of these would cost? thanks

That's the old size.

The new size would have a decimal in the width, and an X between width and rim diameter.

Old size 10-38 would be new size 11.2x38, as I understand it.

Old size 18-28 might be 20.8x28, but there is no such size. The biggest ag tire on a 28" rim I can find is an 18.4x28.

You should be able to find prices at any tire dealer that sells ag tires.

If it was a 18 X 26 the size changed to a 23.1 x 26. I have never heard of a 18(23.1) x 28 size tire.
