How do I tighten up cultivator linkage?

I have a 140 that I'm trying to set up to cultivate crops on my farm. I picked up a set of cultivators and have them on the tractor.

The problem is there is so much play in the joints of the cultivator linkage on the right side they hit the oil cap and the side of the nose section when they move back and forth.

Some joints are worse than others but they all have some play in them. Any suggestions?

Odds are good that all the holes are wallowed out and all the rods have grooves worn in them from decades of use.

You need to spend some time welding all the holes back up, and filling in the grooves on the rods. If you don't know how to weld cast, it might be something best left to a professional.

The joints are split so you can tighten them up. Should be two bolts per joint with a nut on the back side.. tighten that nut down to close up the joint to tighten it up a bit...
