966 Serial Number

I thought the serial number is supposed to be on the cluth housing. Looked all over last night to find it, and couldn't. Did see a tag just below the door on the cab with the following numbers. Upper right hand corner the number is 17400. Number in the lower right is 8234. Also has 6-CM (I think) in the upper left corner and R-157 in the lower left. Are these numbers for just the cab, or could one be for the cab, and the other for the tractor. Trying to figure the year of my tractor. Thanks

The serial plate on the cab is for the cab only. If it is a late model 966 it may have the serial number plate on the right side by the hydraulic filter. The last of the 66 series came with clutch housings with provision for the 86 series cab mounts so the serial plate no longer fit in that area.
