Take an M gas tank and cut it at a point that matches the size of the H rear hood. It might take a bit of fabrication to get it right, but with that and some cosmetics (and fenders) it would be very sweet. Jim

i'm not sure why they modified it, it was that way when the guy i bought it from got it. from the looks of the welds and such it's been this way for quite awhile. thanks for the idea of cutting down a M tank, i'll have to look into that. first i need to repair the float in the carb as it's got a hair crack in it and it's filling up with gas. then i have to get the shifter cut down a bit more and angled correctly as it's right in the way of the clutch pedal when in 1st and reverse.

The guy at Farm Country has repaired bad floats by dipping them in tank sealer and hanging them to dry. He told me about a tractor puller who had a bad float and they tore it apart, dipped it, hung it in the sun, and he was pulling by his class.

I have some of the parts you need if you are interested. I am just finishing a clean up of one and got another one for the tires. Some of the tins need a bit of bodywork but nothing that can’t be fixed. I am in NY if you are interested send me an email at [email protected]
