Clutch on a C

My C is split and the clutch parts have arrived: pressure plate, disc, throwout bearing, and bushing. My buddies and I cannot figure out how to attach the bearing to the carrier. The carrier has a black insert of a soft material such as plastic. When we split it, nothing was found that resembles the new bearing. Could somebody please tell me that either I am insane or I have the wrong bearing?? A pictue is enclosed. Thanks in advance.

The old bearing is graphite (like a pencil only harder) this bearing pushed against a ring with a polished surface. It is stock.
Farmall also had a heavier (later) clutch design wth the ball type bearing in your picture. The key is that the new bearing needs a different carrier to work (which you do not have) and need.
The new bearing carrier part number can be found at caseih.com (keep finding the link to parts and you wll be able to put in Farmall, then scroll to C then clutch. Jim

I am drinking an ice cold Summit Extra Pale Ale. (virtual) and enjoying it as my imagination responds. Jim

The part number you're looking for is 6116D or whatever its nw croos number is. If your local CaseIHNHFord guy is confused, give Bermuda Ken a call. 866-FARMALL.

Summit Extra Pale, huh? You prolly deserve it after all the help you give on this message board. We have a beer here known as MOOSE DROOL which is actually pretty good although I first bought it just for the name! Also a pale ale and made in Montana, I believe.

I have had the Drool, not bad, and there may be more than one Montana local, I lived there for 7 years in Havre. Jim
