Mr. Coleman,
I just finished rebuilding the engine for my Cub. The internal treads are: 1/2 inch, National Course Thread (NCT).

Thanks,

Art

thanks, did you have alot of trouble removing the front pulley? i've tried alot of different puller set ups and with pressure that is being applied it scares me. i do have a bearing seperator behind the pulley, but so far it hasnt buged. d. coleman

I would not use a bolt in that hole to remove the pulley. Instead, use a socket to bear on the end of the crank shaft. A deep well socket that fits in the pulley bore should work good. That is what I used. I did use the hole in the end of the crankshaft to reinstall the pulley.

You will need something along the line of a heavy duty bearing separator to remove the front pulley. Other wise you stand a very good chance of breaking the pulley. Pictures of puller are available at Farmallcub.com.

applied heat with a Wagner heat gun (paint and tile remover) and it came off with little resistance. thanks for all assistance. d. coleman
