47 m hard to turn over

i just put a new rear oil seal in my M and now it just seems really hard to turn over by hand. i soaked the seal in oil before i installed it. maybe it needs more oil? when i bolted the lower half on it was pretty tight against the crankshaft, is that normal?

the top was perfect, the bottom was hard to get in the slot and was a lil to long so i had to trim a little but left a lil over the top of the bottom piece and yes it was felt and from this site.

I just put a felt seal in mine friday.. the felt was a little long and I had to trim slightly the ends on both top and bottom.. I did soak it in oil for about half hour. everything seemed to go back together fine. engine turns over fine but haven't got to the point to run it and test it yet.

i think you good to go, it will wear in / seat when
you run it. If its hard to turn over after a hour or
so of running then i think you may have a problem.
but as long as you soaked it in oil before you put
it in then you should be all set and no need to
worry.

i installed the felt into the slot and then poured oil on to he felt till it would'nt take anymore. should that be enough oil or should i split the tractor again and soak it again?

you should be ok... i really like to soak the seal
till it can not take anymore then install, but it
should be ok as well as there is some oil on it.
