Adjusting the width on '53 Super A front axle

I have had to help a friend widen the axle width on a Super A in the past with much difficulty and aggitation. I now have a Super A that I need to widen the stance on. Any helpful hints or suggestions before I get started? It doesn't look like it was ever adjusted and there is no rust or paint problems around the parts so hopefully things should go smooth. Although, the last one looked easy also before things required a sledge hammer and lots of dented metal and replacement parts. Thanks for the help.

Whether it's never been moved at all or was last moved 20 years ago, you probably can't tell the difference.

Regardless, it ain't gonna go easy. It's going to be pretty much just like the last one.

You can see if it will break loose by removing the clamp and replacing the locating pin with a bolt that's a bit smaller in size. Drive it around on some rough ground and if it's going to bust loose it will. The pin will let it break free without completely collapsing.

Most of these require a big rosebud torch, and some sort of press arrangement. Some people use bottle jacks, some use a port-a-power.
