Super A Demonstrator?

I have a early 1950 super A, someone painted with a paint brush with some cheap red which has faded. When I replaced the brakes and took the floor pan loose to replace the seal, the under side of the floor pan was white and under the axle sleeve was also white. Where can I search to find if this serial number was definitly a demonstrator? (I have the serial number but can't remember it now. :) thanks in advance for any information.

I do not think there are serial number cutoff dates. First quarter production in 1950 is the window, and if the casting codes and serial # fit, it is probably a demo. if not, then it is a repaint. The value is not dramatically affected as there were many tractors repainted (both ways, red to white & white to red). If you like the fact that it falls in the range, and want it white, paint it white. Jim

The generally accepted range is ser #281269-285398 but it is not known if every tractor in this range was painted white or not. Hope this helps. Chuck

Some say they werE built in March 1950 so check your cast codes it was common to build the tractor within 30 days of the cast and delivered to the dealer. The B Dad bought was cast and delivered within 30days. This was July and middle of Aug when delivered in 47

I will have to double check the casting numbers but I think they are January or February? when I took the seat brackets and floor pan,etc off, the red paint flaked off and there was dull white paint? It also has another small tank for dual fuel?

Correct, except the last number of my data is 285298. Anyway it is the last serial in March.
