three point hitch on super A or Farmall 140

Just wondering if anyone else has put a three point hitch on a super A or a 140. I have read these hitches on Farmall H's are built well are a very rugged. Just wondering about ones for the 140 size tractor.

I have a A and a 140 and id like to know also. ive been loking at a company called worksaver that sell them. are thay any good.

I put a Worksaver on one of my Super A tractors. Bolts on pretty fast and works ok. I use a cultivator, a disk (heavy) and a set of harrows on it.
I have pictures of it installed if you are interested. It does NOT have draft control.
Look back through the archives, Hugh MacKay had a lot of comments on 3 point hitches on these tractors.

Have had one on a Super-A since the about 1970 used with 4' light-duty Bush-Hog - no problems. Don't know who made the 3-point, bought it from IH dealer along with the mower. Price was around $280 for both, back then. There was a picture of a SA 3-point hitch somewhere in these YT archives. The main assembly of two sections bolts on in place of the drawbar with connectors to the rear fender rockshafts. You'll need the long rod that connects the front and rear rockshafts together (originally used to raise the rear plows).

I install a Worksaver 3-point on my 140 when I am planting. I keep a worksaver 3-point on my Super A to mount a Caroni 5' finish mower. I agree with the others - they are all right. The worst feature about them is the diagonal anti-sway link is cumbersome to disconnect when hooking up or disconnecting from an implement. It needs some sort of quick disconnect feature, which would probably be easy enough to do, (if I ever took the time to do it).
If you get a 3-point for your SA, you will probably want some front wheel weights.
All in all, if you like your SA and you want a 3-point, the Worksaver is probably the way to go - unless you can design and build something better on your own. Hope this helps you.

I have blueprints for a homemade three point hitch my Dad designed. It works great. You can switch from fast hitch to three point hitch in less than two minutes. I don't think it is a costly thing to build.

Got 3 pt's on 2 140 tractors, one of which is a worksaver. Both work great. I have different size top links for different implements.
