What is the lowest serial # known on a running B that is restored or not. Just wondering. I know of one that is below 501,100. Thanks.

Well mine is a lot lower than that FAB 167820 restored 5 years ago and a great working tractor.
GB in MN

Red Power magzine lists the lowest and highest known serial numbers for all IH tractors still known to exist once a year or so. In the September - October 2009 issue the lowest known Farmall B is serial #4723 and is owned by Bernie and Judy Jerrell of Jonesville, VA, Hal.

Acording to Wendels 150 yrs of IHC. B s , A s , H s & M s serial # all started at 501. Ex:FAB 50198 would be tractor # 98 . I am going to look in an original Tractor Red book & see what it says . Thanks for the info & still learning

Something got lost in the translation there, Clint. In those cases, the first one was 501, the next one was 502, 503 . . . #50198 would be the 49,698th one built in the series. Also, As and Bs shared the same string of serial numbers. Hs and Ms each had their own.
