Does a 1086 gell less than others?

The reason I ask is I have a full 500 gal barrel of #2 fuel and I'd sure like to use this straight #2 with conditioner in the 1086 this winter instead of the 50/50 blend I've always used in the past. Maybe I've been lucky, but it's never been gelled since the day I bought it new. I realize every make and model is different, but If any of you use a 86 series a lot in the winter in northern climates, I'd like to hear your advice. I'm in NW Iowa so -20 is possible but not very frequent.Jim

We've got a 1066 & we always use #2 in ours. It's premium diesel--never had a problem. We're in the opposite corner from you.

I use #2 diesel year in my trucks forlifts and pickup, but i also use Howes fuel conditioner and anti gel. To date my coldest experience with Howes in my truck was -56 no problems even on my cold tank.. Warren

Location of tank doesn't matter anymore. Use fuel conditioner with anti-gel, Stanadyne, etc, and you won't have any issues. I use conditioner year round with the ULSD for added lubricity. Will say, the local coop uses Biodiesel year round, which I'm great with, except it seems I need more conditioner than recommended with the B20 as it seems to want to "wax" up more than non-bio.
