I would appreciate your opinions on bolster vs. wheel weights for a Farmall. If this boards opinionated Canadian, Hughie was still alive, I would enjoy reading his post if he chose to chime in. In my opinion, this board lacks since his passing. Thanks in advance for any input.

Hugh would tell you that the wheel weights put the weight closer to the ground, thus effectively lowering the center of gravity as well as making the front end heavier. Of course, theoretically speaking, adding liquid ballast to the front tires would lower the center of gravity even more.

...and that any tractor larger than a Farmall 300 is too much horsepower for the modern farm (a tongue-in-cheek tribute).

I have no opinion on wheel weights but I agree with you on Hugh, sometimes we disagreeded but you did not have to guess what he thought and more often than not he was right.

If thats and A or Super A or etc take the front
wheel weights off. Just destroys all the steering
connections when they start shaking and they all
do.

I used wheel weights on my M to help hold the wheels down when pulling my trailer...Trailer with A on it would really lighten up the front. I prefer them close to the ground. Henry
