4 ply vs 6 ply

For a parade / show tractor, will 6 ply tires wear better on the pavement? I know the extra ply was for protecting against sharp things like briars, but I don't know if it means the tire will wear less and last longer on the pavement.

Any thoughts?

I am with Gene, is this a serious question? :)
You will NEVER wear out a set of tires on a parade tractor, MAYBE on a very serious tractor ride machine.

The way you are going to use that tractor, if they made 2 ply tires they would last forever. As stated below, the tread will wear the same regardless of the ply rating.

C'mon Mike. You are going to spend $1000 for a set of new rear tires? And match them up with the 2 ply motorcycle tires on the front?

Gordo

No Gordo. I'm getting rid of the Harley tires. I'm chasing a nice set of tires on the internet. If I don't get those, I'm getting new ones from a local dealer. I just want to know what I should get first. 4 ply will be fine.
