1066 injector pump fuel screw

I have been told i can increase the hp on my 1066 by backing out a fuel screw. the pump wes rebuilt last spring because of leaks but now it does not have the power as before. my question is which cover is the screw behind, the one on the side or the one on top and how many turns do i need to turn it to get me another 30 horse.

the 4bolt plate behind the head where injector lines connect take it off there is a bolt with 2 screws on ether side back that bolt out 10 turns for 20-30 horse

I think the cover you are talking about is where a electric fuel shut off selonoid goes like on combines and some use them on tractors also. Someone correct me if I am wrong

Rectangular cover with 4 bolts, may have a seal wire one the front outside bolt. Right under the cover is a threaded screw with a nut and a tab bent against the nut. Straighten the tab, loosen the nut, back the screw out 1 1/2 turns for 30HP.

You should be able to get the extra 30 hp with a turn and a half like previous poster said. No way ten turns. Far as cover on side, it contains governor linkage to control plunger and access to timing marks on head drive gear. I will point out that if you ever need to know if engine is on number one or number six compression you can observe that timing mark on gear and it will align with mark on housing when engine is about 50 ( if memory serves, not going to look it up right now) degrees btdc number one cyl compression stroke.

Ya know Pete that is one thing i never do is try and t4ell someone how to tweek a pump as once they learn they will always want that just a little more and after they try that one setting then they get well maybe just a little more and maybe just a wee bit more . Then my saying comes into play ( WHEN THE GO THEY GO , BUT WHEN THEY GLOW THEY BLOW) . The you are the arrs hole that told them to do it that way , BTDT .

I know what you are saying, but sitting here on a typewriter I feel pretty safe. They will find somebody to tell them anyway. I used to seal them pumps pretty good so we knew if some one had been in there. Funny thing, the factory seal on the bosch pump, well one customer could pick them things open and closed so neatly. On one he forgot the pin he had used on the tractor though so we had a good chuckle. Was not a warranty issue on that one anyway so no problem.

I have my buddy's 1066 singing real good as i got tired of him complaing about the lack of power while chopping . Well now there is NO problem chopping corn as the one year the corn was anywhere from 2 to 4 feet above the H/S sliage wagons and we were filling a wagon each way on the field and he was rolling along in 3 low with the stick ahead and the wagons were weighing in at between 28500 to 30000 a load And from the far side of the field you could tell where he was by the plum going up over the corn . Now his has the 3 LS charger on it and 45 lbs boost And my old MW can not shut her down .
