i am wondering what oil is recomended for the hydrualic system in a m farmall my old m has mosture in it and needs changing

non detergent 30w motor oil

IH Hy-tran or equivalent. Anything else and you will have many repair bills down the road.

The pump really doesn't care. In that old system, 30W is fine. If you are sharing implements with a more modern tractor, use what the other tractor uses to avoid mixing fluid. If it was mine, I would use 30W non-detergent, as Hytran, being thinner may (or may not) leak.

Back then IH recommended 20 or 30w, they also recommended an anti foaming agent which you don't need.
Hytran may be too thin for an old worn pump.
