Has anybody else noticed this years crop of crickets, besides being exceptionally plentiful, it seems most of the big ones are missing one of their rear legs, the ones they jump with. When they try to jump away, they just go sideways, kinda hop in a circle. Makes them easy to catch, or squish.

got'm here in N.Alabama. Thousands of them everywhere. Birds can only eat so many. They are about a 1/4 inch long. In this area they hop in tight circles to the right. Publican crickets.

I dont know much about cricket culture or society. Are they at war with anyone?Maybe they lost their legs in battle.Lets all salute the crickets who choose to die for their colony. If this offends anybody, then you obviously have no sense of humor,so leave this sight and go buy one on Ebay, they have everything else!
