mccormick deereing cultivator

just picked up mccormick deering horse drawn cultivator, all iron parts seem to be there but wood tow bar is missing, looking to use as lawn decoration, does anyone have a picture/specs on the wood hitch so I could rebuild it?, also any idea how old it is? also picked up IH 2 bottom trip plow metal wheels, horse drawn disk & JD single trip plow..any info would be helpful

You are surely talking about a wooden tongue for your cultivator, right? They are available from the Amish. Where do you live? You can also make one--I"d suggest using treated wood. It needs to be about 4" x 6" at the cultivator and be about 10" long. Taper it down to about 3" x 3". Don"t forget you"ll need a tongue cap or pole cap. If you"ll send me an e-mail, I can give you more info. Also, if you"re located anywhere near me, I might be interested in some of your implements.
 
Chris, there is absolutely zero chance of me ever getting to New Jersey (again) to pick up any of your horse-drawn equipment, so I'll see what I can do to help. Here goes:
A great source of information is Rural Heritage. They publish 4 times per year: <www.ruralheritage.com>Their website has many, many books which describe various horse-drawn machines.

If they don't have what you want, they may be able to refer you. The Amish are usually cheapest, but are usually good (best?) quality as they sell items for actual use, not just show.
