What's it worth ? (A)

A friend has this poor, pathetic, little "A" and has offered it to me.

It runs well, has had the valves ground recently, but the sheetmetal leaves a little to be desired.

The rims have been replaced with combine rims with the centers gas-axed out.

I have a "belly-mount" sickle mower for it and I think that might make a fun little outfit.

As an interesting sideline to the story, the mower used to belong to the same family that owns the tractor, but my late Uncle traded them out of it probably 35 years ago.

What at the little things worth nowadays?

I think 800$ would do, it runs, it has potential, it is cute/bedraggled but not offensive. Wheels and tires look usable if not abnormal. JimN

Friend of mine bought a 5040?? Allis at an auction and it had tires similr to those. They were made in India. The tires weren't too many years old but were weathered pretty bad. And it was kept inside most of the time.

It just needs a little hug and it will be just fine! $800 wouldn't be to bad but I would start lower and work up. But that is me.

Now what kind of attitude is that!

It's got a new battery, new paint on the starter and actually appears to have its serial number plate in place.

;8^)

I like the ugly ones! I have a 40 B that looks a little better than that and its the one I drive and use the most!
I have a painted up 52 Super A that I run around on too but if we are in a parade I usually let a buddy drive it. Nothing against it I just like the beater ones!

I'm not at all familiar with A's, (I have a Cub)but I notice the supporting arms for the front end. This seems like a good idea. I'd like to see how they attach front and back, and could I buy or make some for my Cub?

So you guys don't think I need to get out the vaseline to fork over $500.00 for it?
