F20 final drive

Need someone to confirm that the proper lube fill level for an F20 final drive is to the plug that is up about 3 inches from the bottom. Dad"s was full up to the fill plug located up at the top. The original owners manual doesn"t seem to cover this topic.

Yes the plug about three inches up is the level it should be at, and the top plug is just for filling it as you said. The counter gear on top is oiled by splash from the final drive gear.
